The EF2i now has automatic ignition, but the EF2 still has to have a fire set manually.

Maintenance

Every Two Three Days:

Inspect burn pot, clean the burn pot liner, clean out air holes.
Check the door latch, making sure it closes securely.
Clean the window glass as needed.

Inside the firebox, ash may be removed from behind the steel plates by rotating the circular cover to allow vacuuming behind the plate.

Empty the ash pan.

Operate the heat exchanger cleaning rod.

Weekly:

Check the door gaskets, re-glue if necessary.

Twice a Year

Make sure that the fresh air intake is clear.
Check and clean fly ash from the stove's exhaust passageways.
Remove the firebox backing and clean the back of the stove.

Annually:

Check and clean the exhaust flue every year or after burning two tons of pellets. Vacuum dust from the blowers and lubricate the convection blower.
